How to Read a Card on Cardarium

When you open a card on Cardarium, a detail view shows the card's information in one place. This guide explains each part of that view.

Opening a card

Click or tap any card in a set, a search result, or an illustrator's page to open its detail view. Close it with the X button in the corner or by clicking outside the card. The view has two parts: the card image on the left and the card's information on the right.

The card image

The left side shows the full card image. Below the image is a row of extra details covered in the "Weakness, resistance, retreat, and legality" section further down.

Name, set, and number

The top of the information column shows the card's name, the set it belongs to, and its card number within that set. The card number is written as the card's position in the set, such as 4 of 102.

Rarity and illustrator

Below the name are two labels. One shows the card's rarity, which is how common the card is. The other shows the illustrator, which is the artist who drew the card. Selecting an illustrator elsewhere on the site lets you see their other cards.

Pokémon card details

For a Pokémon card, the detail view lists the card's game information:

• Stage. Whether the Pokémon is Basic, Stage 1, or Stage 2, and the Pokémon it evolves from if it has one.
• Type and HP. The card's energy type or types, and its Hit Points, which is the amount of damage it can take before it is knocked out.
• Abilities. Any special power the card has, shown in its own block with the ability name and its effect.
• Attacks. Each attack shows its energy cost as coloured dots, the attack name, the damage, and any effect text.
• Flavor text. A short description of the Pokémon, shown at the end.

Trainer and Energy card details

For a Trainer card, the detail view shows the card's subtype, such as Item, Supporter, Stadium, or Tool, along with its effect text. For an Energy card, it shows whether the card is Basic Energy or Special Energy, along with any effect. These cards do not have HP or attacks.

Weakness, resistance, retreat, and legality

The row below the card image holds a few more values. Weakness is a type that deals extra damage to the Pokémon. Resistance is a type that deals less damage, if the card has one. Retreat cost is the amount of energy needed to switch the Pokémon out during a game. This row also shows format legality, with Standard and Expanded badges, and the card's regulation mark where it has one.

Prices

For English cards, the detail view shows a price grid. It lists the TCGplayer market price in United States dollars and the Cardmarket average in euros. When a card has more than one version, such as Normal, Holo, or Reverse Holo, each version has its own row. A link is provided to view the card on TCGplayer. Japanese cards do not show prices.

Adding a card to your collection

At the bottom of the detail view is a button to add the card to your collection. Cards you add are saved in your browser and counted toward set completion on the collection page.
